  1. Great shots! I’ve only been to my local aquarium once since I’ve lived here and tried taking photos but they didn’t come out so well (though i was just learning about my camera then, so maybe I’d be better at it now). I’d love to go back but I found my local aquarium quite a disappointment — I’m used to the big fancy one in Sydney so the little dinky one here was sad in comparison lol!

    • Aquariums are very tricky places for photos. the low light means having to adjust aperture or shutterspeed, and then the fish have the nerve to move around while you try to shoot them! These were actually all taken with my iPhone!

I’m trying to remember if i was lucky enough to see the Aquarium in Sydney on my one visit to Australia, 19 years ago. I’ll need to go dig out my photo albums to see!

  2. I just love aquariums! Ours is not the most impressive I’ve seen, but it will do… My daughter loves it.

    • My son LOVES aquariums. We have a membership to the local one, which is an odd place, as it started life as a non-profit, went belly up, and was purchased by a for-profit- and a seafood restaurant chain at that!

The New England Aquarium is magnificent. We actually considered having our wedding there…

  3. Fantastic shots – I find it very tricky to get nice shots through the glass in aquariums but yours turned out great. I love the ones of the jellyfish

    • Thank you, Martina… Aquariums are definitely tricky for photos. All of these are actually from my iPhone. I never use the flash, and tend to put my lens right up to the glass…

The jellyfish are my faves as well 🙂
